Ramakrishna Institute of Moral and Spiritual Education
(RIMSE) is a premier educational institution run by the Ramakrishna
Ashrama, Mysore, which is a branch of the well known Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, Belur Math, District
Howrah, West Bengal,
India.
The Institution is the result of untiring effort of late Srimath Swami Shambhavanandaji
Maharaj, an eminent monk of the Ramakrishna Order. |

Our Present Activities
Established in 1974, the Institute conducts the following programmes |

A One-Year (Two-Semester) B Ed Degree Course called RIMSE Scheme, affiliated to the University of Mysore, and recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education. The course offers a compulsory subject (content - cum - methodology) titled Moral and Spiritual Education, besides content- cum- methodology in two subjects.

Various Value Education and Character Development programmes for teachers, students and employees.

Personality Development programme for students through a multimedia Compact Disk.

Five - day Spiritual Retreat during winter season for the general public (Men
only)

Publication of Books and CDs on Value Education.

Free Vedanta Classes for the benefit of general public. The program will comprise erudite lectures on Vedantic texts like Bhagavad
Gita, Upanishads, Bhagavata etc. by scholars in the respective topics.

| Other Activities |
- Value Education experts (teacher educators) from this Institute—with more than two decades of teaching experience—share their expertise with other institutions desiring to conduct programmes in Value Education. Seminars on Value Education, Personality Development are conducted in association with Government and Private Institutions. As an outreach programme professors of RIMSE with AV equipment visit colleges and project Personality Development CD and participate in question and answer sessions with final year B.Sc and B.A students.
- Subject experts who are on the staff of RIMSE regularly work as Resource Persons in preparing content and method enrichment material in their special subjects on invitation from institutions like RIE, a wing of NCERT in Mysore.

| Library |
|
The Institute has a well equipped library containing about 29,000 volumes on various subjects accessible with a computerized catalogue. The library has a qualified Librarian assisted by a library assistant. The library functions under the open-shelf system to facilitate study by the students during study hours. A reading room attached to the library has some selected dailies, magazines and periodicals.

| Harmony of Religions Museum |
|
RIMSE houses a small and beautiful Harmony of Religions Museum having exquisite selections of the religion specific artifacts showcased under Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity and Sikhism. Texts of each religion, and in some cases palm leaf manuscripts, are displayed with a pleasing interior décor that soothes eyes and the mind. Brief life sketches of important saints of India, and snippets of Indian Cultural Heritage are also displayed. The model of Shiva temple and a miniature model of Hoysala temple are unique. There is an exclusive section showcasing organizational details of Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission and the commendable service being rendered them in Education, Health Care, Rural Development and Distress Relief frontiers.
